HR Pufnstuf

H.R. Pufnstuf" was the first in a long line of Saturday morning kid's live-action puppet television shows created and produced by the kings of Saturday morning television during the '70's, Sid and Marty Krofft. The series began when Jimmy, a young English boy playing near the edge of a river with his magical talking gold flute, Freddie, boards a boat that beckons to them. The evil Witchiepoo, seeking Freddie to add to her collection of magical possessions, cast a spell over the boat. After escaping and swimming to the enchanted Living Island, Jimmy is rescued by its mayor, H.R. Pufnstuf, an orange dragon dressed in cowboy duds.
