The two award-winning actors who appeared together in Mel Brooks' hit Broadway show discuss their creative collaboration. Matthew Broderick, the two-time Tony award-winning stage actor and instantly recognizable film presence, most recently starred in the telefilm The Music Man, wrapped production on Disney's The Last Shot, and completed filming Marie & Bruce opposite Julianne Moore. Mr. Broderick won his first Tony Award for Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs and his second for his role in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. He starred opposite Nathan Lane in the record-breaking Broadway run of The Producers, for which he was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor. Nathan Lane is a performer who has been successful on stage, screen, and television. He recently starred in the smash hit musical The Producers. His wildly acclaimed portrayal of Max Bialystock won Mr. Lane the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Tony Awards for Best Actor in a musical. Earlier in the 2001 Broadway season, he starred in the Roundabout Theater Company's revival of The Man Who Came to Dinner. In films, Mr. Lane was most recently seen in Nicholas Nickleby, Stuart Little, and Mousehunt. His performance in The Birdcage earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Golden Globe Nomination. The actor recently filmed Cabbages and Queens in London. John Darnton is a Pulitzer-Prize winning reporter with tremendous foreign reporting experience and a best-selling novelist who has worked for The New York Times for 36 years. He is also currently the associate editor for special projects. Since 1996 he has published three novels: Neanderthal, The Experiment, and Mind Catcher.
